A new US bill is set to preserve the Apollo landing sites due to their historical significance.
The Apollo Lunar Landing Legacy Act is designed to protect the historic sites on the basis that they represent one of America's greatest achievements. In particular the bill is aimed at commercial enterprises and foreign nations that may attempt to land or build on the Moon in the coming years.

The bill states that "it is necessary to protect the Apollo lunar landing sites for posterity" and that "there shall be established as a unit of the National Park System the Apollo Lunar Landing Sites National Historical Park."
Called the Apollo Lunar Landing Legacy Act, the bill was introduced Monday (July 8) by Rep. Donna Edwards of (D-Md. ) and was co-sponsored by Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas).

Don't we have enough problems right now. We don't need to send park rangers to the moon. I noticed it was two democrats wasting our time and monet on this. The landing sites are historic and if we were going back and forth but we aren't.

Perhaps we should concern ourselves with securing our southern border first.

I would like to see them protected, but it is a matter for the UN really. I think they just want something to put in the news. I think they just wanted something to attach pork to it.

Perhaps we should concern ourselves with securing our southern border first. According to the dems we don't have a problem on the southern border.

Can we send any of our politicians up there to dedicate it? Sheila Jackson Lee wanted to see Neil Armstrong's footprints. Oh wait, that was on Mars. Nevermind.

We just have to watch out for dimension x. It is only 100,000 miles away from earth.

Can we send any of our politicians up there to dedicate it? Let's not send politicians into space, there are enough problems with space junk as it is.

I'm just wondering what the fine would be if someone else, something otherworldly landed on the Moon and caused havoc to these historic sites? Or would that then be reason to have a war with aliens? The thought just occurred to me. As a side note, I'd pay to see the dark side of the Moon. As a another side note, I wonder (if) this bill passes, if we'd be taxed for it somehow. A Moon Tax. Just mild ponderings here
