'Spaceman' turns up on Margate beach

Credit: (PD) NASA Margate is a popular destination for holidaymakers, especially during the good weather, but for those who had been taking advantage of the sunshine this week there was a rather unusual surprise in store when someone clad in a spacesuit appeared and started walking along the beach on Sunday morning.

With puzzled glances onlookers reached for their cameras and mobile phones to photograph the peculiar spectacle.The spaceman was observed walking along the concrete spit on Marine Terrace before making his way out to sea and back again across the sand. The mystery only deepened when he was later seen next to a large inflatable yellow ball that had appeared on the shoreline.

As it turns out the spectacle was actually part of an upcoming music video for low-fi pop band 'Elephant' that was being filmed on the beach that day by production company 'Loveday-Valentine'.
