Is the interior of the moon still warm ?

Evidence of relatively recent lunar volcanism could indicate that the interior of the moon is still warm.
Scientists at Arizona State University who have been examining photographs returned by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter have discovered convincing evidence that a number of unusual rocky formations on the lunar surface were actually created by lava flows as recently as 100 million years ago.

Previously it was believed that the most recent volcanic activity on the moon occured almost a billion years earlier.
"The moon was more active in recent history than previously thought possible," said scientist Sarah Braden. "Young volcanism indicates possibly more magma, or magma at higher temperatures, or magma at shallower depths, or all of the above."

The discovery paints a very different picture of the moon as it is today and suggests that there could be a lot more going on below the lunar surface than was previously believed.

I just love how 100 million years ago is considered recent now

Call me crazy, but I truly believe that either the U.S. or Russian governments have a military underground base on the moon. It would represent a HUGE leap forward in terms of a military race war. We both have the technology to get there, Just send 5 or 6 shipping containers with a digger machine... 50 feet down, make a cave, set up atmosphere... yada yada yada... We have a military moon base. There are no current above or underground bases on the moon, from any country. Sorry.

At a guess, too small, no magnetic field to protect any atmosphere from the solar winds - radiation, no liquid water and a myriad of other reasons. They have actually discovered plainty of water on the moon. If moon has an active core hence producing vulcanic activity as per this article, it shoul also generate a magnetic field. Likely this hasn't been tested yet since moon surface has Been little to not at all explored.

How would a base on the Moon be a huge leap forward in an arms race ? (I hope that is what you mean by military race war ?) It is to far away to be used for surveilance, so what would be the point ? I won't call you crazy. You might report me for such an act. So, let me ask this: why do you think so? What is your evidence? And, honestly, why would those underground bases need to be there? Russia def... [More]

There are no current above or underground bases on the moon, from any country. Sorry. Correct. 'Cause the aliens won't let us build there yet.

That would explain why all the attempts to land on the moon have failed so far. Apollo 11 is disputable.

In a world of wrong ideas the 'moon landing hoax' nonsense stands out as a shining example of wrongness. There's a long standing UM thread as to why this is the case (over in the conspiracies forum).

Yes and the heating bill is absurd.
