Trump's UFO advisor: 'aliens wouldn't care who the president is'

It is often said that aliens would "land on the White House lawn" during such a scenario, though there is clearly no guarantee that first contact would be made with the United States.

There are also some who would be concerned about exactly who the president was at the time.

Now according to Avi Loeb, who was recently appointed the role of Trump's UFO advisor, visiting aliens would be unlikely to care about who currently sits in the White House.

"If someone arrives from the vast expanses of interstellar space, recognizing how humans divided up territory on Earth is a very low priority for them," he told AlterNet."They wouldn't care about the United States, and they wouldn't care who its president is."

That said, Loeb also maintains that in the event that aliens really did make contact with the White House, it would be one of the most significant and defining moments in US history.

"Obviously, for a president, it would be a great boon if, during his term, we discovered we're not alone - that we have a neighbor in our cosmic environment," he said.

"That kind of discovery would be remembered millions of years into the future. It's not like a dispute with another nation, which in a century will likely be forgotten."
