Has the Hadron Collider disproven ghosts ?

According to Professor Brian Cox, if ghosts existed, CERN's atom smasher should have found them by now.
During a recent segment with Neil deGrasse Tyson on his BBC Radio 4 show 'The Infinite Monkey Cage', Professor Cox - a British physicist well known for presenting science programs in the UK - suggested that the Large Hadron Collider may have actually disproven the existence of ghosts.

Given that spirits are presumably made up entirely of energy, they would almost certainly dissipate due to the second law of thermodynamics which suggests that energy is always lost to heat.

To get around this problem there would need to be some sort of source of incoming energy to keep them going - something that CERN's famed particle accelerator would have found by now.
"If we want some sort of pattern that carries information about our living cells to persist, then we must specify precisely what medium carries that pattern, and how it interacts with the matter particles out of which our bodies are made," said Cox.

"We must, in other words, invent an extension to the Standard Model of Particle Physics that has escaped detection at the Large Hadron Collider. That's almost inconceivable at the energy scales typical of the particle interactions in our bodies."

His comments caught the interest of Tyson who was also appearing on the program.

"If I understand what you just declared, you just asserted that CERN, the European Centre for Nuclear Research, disproved the existence of ghosts," he said, to which Cox agreed.
