The Shadow Ghost

Uploader comment: Was taken during an investigation in Pitman NJ.... One of the Investigators on scene was having strange feelings and did a quick swing around snap shot off one of our Olympus Digital Camera's. The only person in the living room at the time was the clients mother and she was laying down watching the television. As you can plainly see, the photo portrays what seems to be at least a 7 foot black shadow moving through the living room, possibly avoiding the camera.

There isn't equal blurred objects. The S.G. looks more blurred than the other items. I want to say this is a S.G. however what exactly has been going on in the house to initiate an investigation?

"did a quick swing around snap shot" Sounds like the "ghost hunter" explained his own picture of a "ghost"....motion blur of a real object/person.

Fake, Equal blurriness if the 'figure was moving' in comparison to the background,/ stationary objects.

blurry pic of of some random dude.

Oops...I meant 'all they say *is* "fake".' Hey, I'm getting bad karma from writing a huffy post already! Wow, that's fast! LOL

Hey Moodswing, Soulfilter said he was "staring into the living room", not that he was in the living room, with Investigator Archut. If you're going to be a nitpicker, make sure you've on target yourself there (I hate inaccurate nitpickers, sorry). It seems to me that many people are scared out of their shorts by some of the pictures on here...use logic to determine when a picture is an obvious fake or not! This looks like an apparition with a hat on, like a cop or something, with a warrant in his hand (lol). If someone was going to fake a ghost photo, they'd do a bette...

this is so obvious a cool trick with a long shutter speed. i've done the same my self for some exercises at school, it is very cool and simple. a couple of seconds is enough, the person in front of the camera spin and becomes blurry and just like in this picture. if it was a picture of a shadow or spirit or something like that, the rest of the motive probably wouldn't be so blurry. it's obviously a dark room, so flash would be needed. if there is no flash available, long shutter would be necessary, and since this is an investigation scene a tripod would be reasonable to use. this p...

that white line looks like part of the tv but it dosent match perfectley in line, but lets say it is a ghost could it not distort tht line like water does?

quote=Soulfilter" i know what was there at the time cause i was sitting right next to Investigator Archut at that very moment, staring into the living room./quote The pictures headline quoteThe only person in the living room at the time was the clients mother and she was laying down watching the television./quote Are you the clients mother, Soulfilter? (sorry to be picky, I'm not a sceptic as such but conflicting "facts" are also worth investigating.)

TV and light on behind fleshy + fleshy moving a bit + slow shutter speed = fake shadow ghost.
Comment icon #30 Posted by simara on 16 September, 2005, 4:00
it's a person lol
Comment icon #29 Posted by simara on 16 September, 2005, 4:00
This figure in the picture is either turning around and moving faster than you took the picture.
Comment icon #28 Posted by fallenangel on 3 May, 2005, 3:59
unfortunettly it is the person taking the photograph. OH Did they forget to tell you the image came from a wall sized mirror. Dern it they always forget something.

..ying this is what we are really looking at, because i wasnt there, and we only have the persons word on what happened. im just putting forward a suggestion of what could be done.
Comment icon #26 Posted by jonb on 23 April, 2005, 4:08
another explanation, one person sets up camera resting on somthing and sets the camera to a longer than normal shutter speed (Would explain why the room is quite well exposed, even though the lighting is fairly lacking and the intensity of the tv, and ceiling light) the guy walks in front of the camera when instructed to do so, whilst the other person holds the camera in place (but doesnt have a tri pod or any other equipt to keep it stable, which would create the fairly blurred room image) im not sa...

i dunno what that white line is... almost looks like its holding a book or something..
Comment icon #24 Posted by tbibera on 11 April, 2005, 7:01
well i think it's awesome. Of course people will be skeptics until they have had their own encounter with the supernatural -- then it changes your life forever.
Comment icon #23 Posted by thedoctor on 8 April, 2005, 4:02
the rest of the room is blurry due to the "swing around" but the figure is much more blurred which would make us think it was moving quickly... but to where.. if it is moving quickly, it's standing still and shaking.. if it was moving toward the door, the blur would go in that direction, but it doesn't... also, why is the head completely transparent and what is the white line that appears to be on the figures left arm?
Comment icon #22 Posted by accused pheonix on 29 March, 2005, 23:32
That is double exposure of a female, the woman lying down on the sofa could've got up quickly!
Comment icon #21 Posted by winkie05 on 29 March, 2005, 12:19
Total motion blur.As far as fading into the table it looks like it's a shadow because of the brighter lighting on that side of the room. Why was the mother there laying down while you were investigating? I thought you guys didn't like electrical stuff on while investigating. Can't it interfear with the readings of your equipment and stuff?

i know its going to get alot of criticism. thats why im trying to answer every question to the best of my ability
Comment icon #18 Posted by soulfilter on 11 March, 2005, 23:43
did i say that? no... I simply am explaining my side of the story and understanding why it will get picked apart like it has been.

We see a lot of great pictures on this website, but without backup(documented accounts signed by the witnesses or something more substantial, like a history of haunting, to go along with the picture) a simple "believe me--I've been doing this for years" doesn't go too far in proving the validity of the pictures.

I am a "ghost hunter", aka Paranormal Investigator.. Been doing it for about 6-7 years. The group I'm involved in did some research, including having professional photographers take a look at it, trusting our word as a professional paranormal investigative group that the photo is legit, and they had no answer as to why that came up on the photo.
Comment icon #15 Posted by iseedeadppl on 28 February, 2005, 21:41
hmmmmmmm i'de like to believe its a ghost. Im always haunting for real ghost pix. Why dont you send it to one of the ghost hunters sites and see what they have to say?
Comment icon #14 Posted by painkiller on 26 February, 2005, 8:38
naw, its just a dude, trying to hide the porn on the tv.
Comment icon #13 Posted by jonb on 25 February, 2005, 21:07
to be fair, the blur on the figure is a lot more dramatic than the rest of the room
Comment icon #12 Posted by soulfilter on 22 February, 2005, 18:03
and thats what ive been saying, that i understand why this photo gets picked apart and i dont blame anyone for bashing it and calling it fake..
Comment icon #11 Posted by d@rk_kn!ght on 22 February, 2005, 15:21

Fake.
Comment icon #7 Posted by soulfilter on 18 February, 2005, 18:05
the 7 foot theory was just a guess-timate. It could be closer or even further away... the thing that confused us a bit is that it almost apears to be fading into the countertop. after getting the positive, we decided to try and make the same image with our psychic investigator Robinette and the client. If I could link to you those images I would but this site doesnt allow it... I may just post it up on the forums if I get any demand for the images.

i know everyone will pick this apart because of the blurriness... and i dont blame you. Im currently going to school for computer gfx and design and this i would scream "photoshop!" without any thought. but i know what was there at the time cause i was sitting right next to Investigator Archut at that very moment, staring into the living room.
Comment icon #5 Posted by lord_kazius on 18 February, 2005, 8:50
lol, that looks so fake, its just a blurry pic of a guy walking in his living room, not of a walking shadow.....the things people will believe these days, tsk tsk tsk.
Comment icon #4 Posted by iseedeadppl on 18 February, 2005, 0:56
it can not be 7feet tall, if you stand near the camera and a tree is behind you , you will always look taller comparing to a tree, so I dont buy it But is a creepy pic
Comment icon #3 Posted by soulfilter on 17 February, 2005, 18:09
:) hi, the blurriness of the photo was caused by the investigator doing a swing around trick which has worked several times in past investigations. the swing around is basically when you are facing one direction and quickly swing around to take a fast snapshot of anything behind you in hopes to catch any spirit off guard.
Comment icon #2 Posted by angelwings on 17 February, 2005, 1:59
Looks awful soild to me. And no where near 7ft tall. But maybe it's just me :-)
Comment icon #1 Posted by iseedeadppl on 16 February, 2005, 22:49
Pretty creepy, I wonder if it is real though -it almost looks like someone walking by and a reflection of the photographer in the door glass. This is something that can also be easily done on photoshop by bluring . Ummmm also why are the rest of the objects in the room so blurry?
