The leader of an ancient order founded in the 12th Century maintains that Jesus' bones are in the American Northwest.
Speaking recently in an interview on the Danny Jones Podcast, Timothy W. Hogan - who heads up an order that was established centuries ago to protect Christians in the Holy Land - has claimed that the bones of Jesus himself were removed from Jerusalem by the Knights Templar.
He explained that the bones had been kept at the Talpiot Tomb in East Jerusalem during the Middle Ages and were later moved to two secretive vaults somewhere in North America.
They were allegedly among many Holy relics moved by the Knights Templar to the New World to conceal their whereabouts from the Vatican.
"This isn't something we're trying to hide," said Hogan. "We've just been trying to protect it."
"When the tomb was originally discovered, with ossuaries labeled with the names Jesus, Mary Magdalene, and John the Baptist, it was understood that if the remains were turned over to the Vatican, they would vanish. "
"The Church would have buried the story because it contradicts their doctrine."
Understandably, Hogan's comments have been met with a considerable degree of skepticism, with critics citing the complete lack of evidence save for him simply claiming this to be true.
Exactly where these alleged vaults are located, if they even exist at all, remains unclear.
If they actually do exist, however, it would certainly be interesting to see what ancient treasures, if any, are contained within their walls.
