i wonder if this is where the idea of Chewbacca came from o.O

awwww. it's very messed up that there were attractions that made money off people's genetics mutations and mishaps. Jojo was a person just like us, he just had hair everywhere. He may have looked like one because of all the hair, but he wasn't a dog! but then as I look at it, he has no hair on his hands..... weird mutation or hoax?

How sad. I hate shaving as it is. It would drive me barking mad...

This is real and is a known condition....lately in Asia many kids were born with this condition making some scientist think that we might be heading toward a new Ice age, and that evolution was taking a step in that direction....

Why is everything a "disease" to the human culture. What because he doesn't look like the mejority of the human race. Do some research guys would being light skin or dark skin a disease as well. Because One person has a skin pigmintation and the other doesn't. Oh and our children have ADD, come on what child do you know can fouces for long periods of time, and doean't want to run around a play all day. they are children thats what they do, but everything now is some sort of disease. The rest of you who are making jokes about the man it's childish, and your being a bul...

i saw that episode, since my family is CSI addicted ;)

There was a CSI episode dedicated to this disease... it was really sad. I think they must feel ashamed of the way they look, because they're not the same... I have a kidney condition that disables me from drinking alcohol, and I feel really weird. Wonder what that guy goes through...

There's a family in Mexico(I think)that are like that, but they don't have as much hair.
Comment icon #27 Posted by mpeacock on 23 June, 2006, 3:30
the condition is real, unfortuniatly this is an obvious fake. I work in graphic design, and photo editing, i can see a fake a mile away, this one is fake. Whoever did it did a good job though!

Look sir a wookie!

Thankyou carrieann26. It's a 'disorder', Hypertrichosis. And it's not exclusively a nineteenth century European infliction based on legend. It has nothing to do with 'werewolves'. But I must admit, the moon is bright tonight. Aaawooooh!!

i like this guy. i know why the Elephant man and Jojo got strange diseases like that. John Merricks mother had a fear of elephants and her son developed that disease. Jojos mother was scared of wolves and her son developed that disease. i wonder what would happen if him and the Elephant man met?

oh i saw this guy in a book called Freaks
Comment icon #18 Posted by mgblueyes on 29 August, 2005, 2:58
my fullest sympathy. does hypertrichosis cause the hair to be like body hair or head hair as there is difference or is the condition not that predictable. and forgive please but would laser removal have any effect?
Comment icon #17 Posted by carrieann26 on 26 August, 2005, 18:24
His disease is actually called Hypertrichosis, which causes hair to grow uncontrollably all over the body. Lycanthropy is a mental disorder which causes one to believe they are a wolf. Imagine if somene suffered from both...???

That is great picture. I would love to meet him one day. I'm sure there's a reason why he was born that way. Everything happens with a reason.
Comment icon #12 Posted by egerren on 11 June, 2005, 7:19

Comment icon #8 Posted by notinek on 1 April, 2005, 8:13
It's called lycanthropy, actually. But there was also some problem with them shaving, as I recall. I think they're skin was too sensitive or something. I Don't remember :P
Comment icon #7 Posted by continanza on 7 March, 2005, 9:23
yeah..they were in mexico..i think
Comment icon #6 Posted by aravyndra on 6 March, 2005, 1:15
This is a real deformation like Delve said. a set of twins who had the disease should be like 20 by now.
Comment icon #5 Posted by delvedeeper on 16 February, 2005, 5:48
Wow your morons..this is a real deformation where the gene that grows hair on certain places, like your face doesn't turn off causing this.
Comment icon #4 Posted by horrification on 27 January, 2005, 3:25
