Dark energy may not actually exist

The theoretical dark energy thought to account for over 70% of the universe might not actually exist. A team of mathematicians have allegedly devised a whole new set of calculations that remove the need for the controversial substance entirely.
Dark energy - the mysterious substance thought to make up three-quarters of the universe - may not actually exist, claims new research.

Cabbage. That makes perfect sense! Cabbage is the one force not taken into account in the equation. This will turn the stomachs of all the theorists!

The new research, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, is likely to be equally controversial as the work it purports to challenge especially as it relies on our galaxy being at the centre of the Universe - a concept that has been generally disregarded in modern science. If we were at the centre of the universe that would have profound effects on how we view who we are.

this is the second time someone has forced something into Einstein's math to make it work. the first time was Einstein himself. Actually daniel, Einstein's math was relatively simple, and is still generally irrefutable. All that is necessary is a knowledge of algebra...perhaps a bit of a post-secondary understanding of the subject. It's elegantly simple. Not that it can't be disproven..but so far, little joy in most conventional scientific circles. Dark matter is an only slightly understood idea...the verdict is out on it and will be for some time, although evidence tends to show it certainly ... [More]

If we were at the centre of the universe that would have profound effects on how we view who we are. I don't honestly think any real scientists think we're at the center of the universe. No scientist actually knows where that place...if it exists... is.

hahaha...next to go is the big bang THEORY Harhar, aren't we funny today? Don't you get it everybody? He put the word "Theory" in caps because everyone knows that scientific theories are complete nonsense fabricated by college dropouts, which he wants to imply the big bang is. ... Wasn't that clever?

Dark Energy isn't a specific theory per say, it's a kind of loose place-holder on a set of observations that lack a decent theory to explain them. The universe appears to be expanding at an accelerating rate, and none of our currently accepted theories predict that, so what's doing it? We don't know, so we call it Dark Energy until we do, the 'dark' meaning unknown. Saying "Dark Energy may not actually exist" is like saying, "Seat Reserved may not actually turn up to this concert".

Saying "Dark Energy may not actually exist" is like saying, "Seat Reserved may not actually turn up to this concert". Nicely done

So whats the more likely then... Dark energy exists, or we are at the centre of the universe?
