Hypnotist Chris Hughes has said he is going to place the whole nation in a trance using Twitter and Facebook as part of what is being billed to be the world's largest mass hypnosis. The event will take place on January 4th.
A British hypnotist has pledged to put the nation in a trance using Facebook and Twitter. In a Derren Brown-esque stunt, Chris Hughes says he will cast a spell over the internet and set a world record in the process for the world's largest mass online hypnosis session.

i could understand if he tried it via television....but twitter and facebook??? how is that even possible with just words Easily. The power of suggestion over the human mind is impeccable if the hypnotist knows their stuff. Of course, it only works on highly suggestable people. But if he gets enough people to listen on Twitter/MySpace, even a low percentage of all the listeners being affected would be considered an extremely high number.

When he did that roulette thing. He has failed countless times. It's a part of what he does. Then he goes back and learns from how he failed. I'd like to see you try the things he does. And Jack of Blades, tha is not the definition of insanity. That's a thing Einstein said describing it is not sane to do the same thing over and over expecting different results. Then AA nutters jumped on it and call it the definition of insanity... jeez.

I think this line from the op's post is the clue: Mr Hughes, 34, will be attempting to stick his followers' hands together, and leave them unable to open their eyes, purely through the sound of his voice Now I can't be sure about facebook but when did twitter allow you to hear a persons voice?

I'm pretty sure that the Government already won this prize.....every time you turn on the television.

hypnosis is not mind control. its an all too common misconception. I think you are under the misconception that being able to control someone's thinking (thus controlling their mind) is not mind control.

And I thought I was the only one who thought that.. It's all a mind over matter thing... you cannot successfully induce hypnosis unless the subject wants to be hypnotized.
