New research in to the acoustics of paranormal sounds may prove that they are neither natural nor human in origin.

Conducted by Dr. Barrie Colvin the research is to be published in the respected Journal of the Society for Psychical Research. He found that the properties of sounds thought to be of paranormal origin such as raps, bumps and other noises are fundametally different in their acoustic properties to the type of sounds we otherwise encounter in our daily lives.

"These startling conclusions have been drawn by Dr Barrie Colvin, a scientist who has spent the past five years analysing the knocks, raps and bangs produced by poltergeists."

Hoaxing sound is very easy, especially with a synthesizer.

Yes, because it is a loaded question designed to engender support for you view in a manner that ignores the actually lack of evidence. Now you are making statements without justification. I never said that there is no such thing as an afterlife, you are making fallacious arguments. I don't care how new you are too the sight, if you post fallacious arguments you will have it pointed out, if not by me, then by someone else. Well a conversation with a dead person would be nice.

To me it doesn't seem like he has shared a personal view whether he supports the article or not. It sounded more like he wanted to get your opinion on the subject. How is asking you what you would consider evidence fallacious? You just said 100% of research like this fizzles out. So if that's your opinion, what evidence would it take to change your views? It's a pretty straight forward question to try and understand you. From the way it sounds you are pretty dead set on your views so would you even believe the evidence that would support a genuine haunting if it was present... [More]

It is not the knocks, raps and bangs that gets me it is the disembodied voices they seem to be far more tangible than knocks, raps or bangs as far as evidence is concerned. I remember as a kid I got a tape recorder/player for my birthday and one day I was home alone sitting in the living room with a new 3 pack of blank tapes. I was messing around recording my voice doing the testing 1-2-3 bit etc… When I played it back I could hear me but I could also hear two male voices in a violent argument. I thought I must have got used tapes in the 3 pack I bought and it was from something else previ... [More]

First of all, it's "to the site," not "too the sight." Second of all, I noticed several similar spelling/gramatical mistakes in the article, making me a wee bit more skeptical of any conclusions that were drawn than I would have been otherwise. Clearly this guy is not all too professional if he's letting simple mistakes like that fall throught the cracks. Third of all, ghosts are ghosts. They are paranormal, meaning that the vast majority of evidence for them will consist of strange auditory and physical phenomena such as knocks or bangs and floating or mo... [More]

Sorry I'm late that Hard 90 degree Turn from Australia a PITA I think at this point there have been enough sightings, voices, film evidence, unexplained phenom to say that I believe there is a good chance at an afterlife! I will use the UFO Theory as example: 1 person sees UFO reports it, He is a Nut! 2 people see it, They are both nuts, But three to six hundred are they all Nuts? People all over the world have seen "ghosts" and everyone thinks they're A: Nuts B: Faking it C: Nuts with Imaginations D: Can't Prove it, Don't Care For all these witn... [More]
