Druidry has been recognised as an official religion in the UK for the first time in history.
Druids have been a part of Britain's history for thousands of years but its taken until now for it to be officially recognised as a religion. "It was a long and at times frustrating process," said Phil Ryder, Chair of Trustees for The Druid Network.
The Druid Network has been given charitable status by the Charity Commission for England and Wales, the quango that decides what counts as a genuine faith as well as regulating fundraising bodies.

The attraction must be in not knowing. By all that we do know, they spent most of their time sacrificing humans to placate the gods. There is no real evidence of that other then the ramblings of Ceaser however they did believe in capitol punishment.

I was comfortable and happy when I practiced Druidry, it was nice to find other people similarly interested in seeing beyond the cross. Of course, when I eventually converted, it was because I found the system ... [More]

one of the few religions I can actually respect. Of course becoming into the mainstream will make it more popular, I can only hope this doesn't lead to corruption and fanaticism as with other major religions.

Love the idea of how people can decide, whether something is a "religion" or not. Anyways, good for the druids.
