SETI's search for extraterrestrial life has been suspended until it can secure more funding.
Due to financial difficulties the Allen Telescope Array has been temporarily closed down, impacting not only SETI but other mainstream radio astronomy projects as well. There is hope however - it is thought the US Air Force may be interested in funding the project so that they can keep track of orbital debris.
The SETI Institute is suspending its search for extraterrestrial radio beacons using its most advanced alien signal-seeking tool while it hunts for new sources of funding.
