Image Credit: ISIS The ISIS team conducted an investigation on November 12, 2011 in Albany County after being contacted by an adult female complaining of paranormal activity. The woman posed complaints consisting of the sensation of being watched by something unseen, her children being physically attacked from an unseen force, unexplained sounds and voices, and even visitors in the home were having paranormal encounters. Terrified, the client decided to call in a team to conduct an investigation, and if necessary, a clearing or cleansing of the home.

Client Background:
We were contacted by an adult female who is the single mother of three children; in order to maintain her anonymity, we have changed her name to Megan. She is a 30-year-old female who has lived at her present location for the past five years with her three children: a 10-year-old boy in the fifth grade, a nine-year-old girl in the fourth grade, and a two-year old toddler. The family lives in a large, bi-level home. According to Megan, the most paranormal activity is experienced in the vicinity of the staircase, the hallway, and in the kitchen of the home. Megan suffers from anxiety and she has suffered from extreme, chronic, unexplained health issues since living at the location.
Megan was raised Christian, but currently has no religious affiliation. She has not conducted any rituals in the home, and there have been no clergy that has visited the home. To her knowledge, the home has never been blessed or spiritually cleansed. As far as her beliefs in life after death, Megan believes that there is no Heaven or Hell, but that following death, energy has to go somewhere. Megan had heard about our group through word of mouth and contacted us because she and her family were truly terrified by the ongoing occurrences in the home.
Megan maintains that she has no intense interest in the supernatural or the paranormal but that she has seen shows on television about the subject, like Ghost Hunters and Paranormal State. She does not read books on the paranormal and she has not conducted any research on her own about paranormal occurrences. Megan has never conducted any ghost investigations herself and no séances have occurred on the property to her knowledge. She has never used a Ouija Board. The client has not experienced automatic writing and she does not report having thoughts that are “seemingly not her own.”
Megan professes to have no psychic abilities. She has complained about experiencing a lost sense of time on more than one occasion. In terms of sleep abnormalities, Megan reports that her son has gotten up and ran through the house in a sleep walking episode: he was screaming that he forgot something outside. She also reports that sometimes her oldest daughter moans and yells in her sleep. Megan also explained that she has some difficulty sleeping and that she constantly feels exhausted. On one occasion, she has experienced sleep paralysis where she woke up and could not move. Megan reports having nightmares but not being unable to remember them upon waking. Her children are also occasionally having nightmares.
No media has been involved with the case prior to the client contacting us.
Client Interview:
During the interview, the client revealed to us that the paranormal activity started at the location approximately five years ago and that it has been ongoing since the family moved there. In the past, the client reports having heard strange tapping on the windowsill, and footsteps running up and down the stairs. The sound of footsteps seemed to partially descend the staircase and stop suddenly; when this happened, Megan would go to the staircase to see if her children were playing around, only to find no one was there at all. This same experience has been witnessed by her boyfriend.
Since living in the residence, Megan has seen shadows, both out of the corner of her eye as well as straight on. One time her daughter saw something run from bedroom to bedroom in the home; the child reported seeing “a black shadow with no head, nothing, just a black shadow.”
The first three months in the home, Megan reports seeing the apparition of a little girl standing in one of the bedrooms of the location as well; she reports seeing the silhouette or shadow of a girl two times since living there. Both times this shadow figure was seen in the upstairs hallway.
On one occasion, Megan had a male friend over to the home. The male went upstairs and quickly came back down. He told Megan that he would never come back to the location again after seeing what he saw; according to Megan, her male friend reported seeing a colorful shadow standing over her son’s bed.
In addition to hearing tapping on the windowsill, the client also reports hearing tapping on an upstairs dresser, on the doorways in the home, and loud banging from unexplained sources. Sometimes the closet door opens by itself without explanation, and one night, about a week or so before our visit, a crucifix shook on the wall in the master bedroom as if it were a rattle. The cross did not fall off the wall.
Megan explained to us that something unseen was hurting her children; her daughter was pinched in the shower and told her mother that she felt like she was smacked. A purple mark appeared on the child’s back without explanation. A similar incident happened to her son too; he received a single scratch on his leg when he was getting ready for bed. The boy came running downstairs to tell his mother that something unseen had scratched him. The scratch was about three inches long. The children often report feeling as if something unseen has smacked them in the head or on the body. In addition, sometimes the children act very out of sorts; for example, during a disagreement with her son, Megan reports that her son became unusually aggressive. After ascending the stairs, he turned to her and said “I want to snap your f%&king neck.” The female adult was shocked at this extremely unusual, aggressive, and potentially violent behavior.
The residents of the home are not the only victims of attack from unseen forces. One day, Megan had a female visitor in the home. As the visitor was going out the back door to leave, something unseen pushed her out the door.
On another occasion, Megan had one of her children in the highchair. Her oldest son was upstairs taking a shower. Megan had a bath seat in the tub that she had removed from the shower so the oldest boy could get washed up. She took the bath seat and stuck it to the floor in the bathroom. She went downstairs to finish up dinner dishes. Her daughter played with dolls on her bed. Suddenly, a loud smashing sound was heard as the bath seat came tumbling down the stairs and busted into little pieces at the bottom of the staircase. Megan ran out of the kitchen and to the base of the stairs to find her son standing at the top of the stairs, dripping wet, confused, trying to figure out what happened. Megan asked her son directly if he were responsible for what had happened, and the boy adamantly denied being responsible; the mother believed her son, and confident in her judgment, concluded that the seat had been tossed down the stairs by an unseen force.
During another incident, Megan came inside to get some snacks for the children outdoors. Her daughter followed her inside and said “Mommy, mom, look.” Megan turned to see what her daughter was talking about and she saw a big blue toy ball spinning around on the floor at the base of the stairs by itself in a counterclockwise direction. She walked over to the ball and it continued to spin; when she got closer to the ball she felt a blast of cold air. By this time, a friend of Megan’s had also come inside and seen what was going on. The female friend was carrying her baby; the baby looked upstairs and began screaming, seemingly for no reason at all or as if she saw something no one else could see.
Megan has also had experiences where she had to struggle to get out of bed. She has felt something touch the side of her head, and touch your side while she was laying down. She has felt like something was laying beside her. Sometimes it feels like something is pulling her back in the bed when she tries to get up as well.
Megan reports that her oldest daughter had heard growling on the side of her bed. Her daughter also heard voices saying, “Grab that,” and the girl often questions her mother, “Did you hear that?” Megan reports at one time hearing breathing in the master bedroom. This event can be supported by two of our investigators who both heard breathing in the upstairs bedroom while at the location, before knowing that the client had similar experiences.
About a week before our visit, the client had a strange photograph appear on her cell phone. The client was up extremely early. It was 5:10 am when something told her to check the pictures on her phone even though she had not taken any recent photos. A new photo appeared on her phone of the kitchen area where she was standing. This photo contained a white skeletal looking face and the client said it was wearing a cape. Additional spirits seem to appear in the image. When Megan saw the picture she said, “That’s it, I’m done.” She woke up her kids, got them ready for school, and heard her baby screaming upstairs. At this point all of the children became distressed and hysterical. Megan huddled together with her two older children, went upstairs, and got the baby. She then made the decision to bring the children to her parent’s house. The client did not return to the location until the day of our visit a week later.
Megan told us that there are plenty of plumbing difficulties at the location as well; the toilet often floods, and nothing seems to drain properly. Even her animals have been influenced by the activity; her cats absolutely refuse to come out from under the beds in the home. Megan reports smelling unusual, foul odors in the home, and she regularly experiences dramatic temperature changes in the home as well. Sometimes she feels angered without cause or explanation. She constantly feels as if something is watching her.

There was one unusual photo in association with this case, but whether or not is it of paranormal origin remains in question; We captured a strange light anomaly in the master bedroom of the home that we cannot currently explain. 10:44 AM – Location: Living Room: A temperature fluctuation was detected; the temperature changed from 71.6 F to 73.4 F to 69.8 F to 68 F.
10:49 AM – Location: Child’s Bedroom: The temperature fluctuated from 68 F to 66.2 F.
11:05 AM – Location: Son’s Bedroom: The temperature fluctuated from 69.8 F to 68 F.
11:10 AM – Location: Master Bedroom: The temperature fluctuated from 64.4 F to 66.2 F.

10:45 AM – Dowsing Rods began spinning uncontrollably in the kitchen area of the home when not nearby a natural source of water.
10:46 AM – When stepping out of the kitchen and into the living room area, the dowsing rods began to spin uncontrollably once more.
10:54 AM: A pendulum reading in the living room begins spinning widdershins, suggesting negative energies. It then begins to swing back and forth.
11:02 AM: Dowsing rods repeated spinning action in the upstairs hallway.
Psychic Artistry and Impressions:
10:35 AM: Psychic artist Angela Kaufman reports an “oppressive feeling” upon entering the location. Two other investigators concur with this feeling. At the same time, she documents hearing a noise coming from the upstairs of the location: no one was upstairs at the time.
11:00 AM: Angela reports sensing a presence on her left side while standing by the stairs. This was before she knew anything about the occurrences in the location or that the staircase is a prime source of activity.
10:40 AM: Angela documents “I felt a presence near my legs sweep by.” This occurred at the same time as a camera malfunction.
10:40 AM: Angela writes, “One of the spirits is a small child, a young boy.” We did capture an evp of a child’s voice, but the evp clearly states that it is “a girl.”
10:46 AM: Angela senses the spirit in the upstairs of the location; she writes “A woman in a long robe with a baby carriage.”
10:56 AM: An investigator documents sensing the “spirit of a small girl child.” This was documented before the investigator found out that the client has also reported seeing the apparition of a young girl in the home. We have an evp capture of a young girl as well.
11:00 AM: Angela reports experiencing an unexplained, sharp pain in the lower area of the neck.
11:01 AM: Angela moves to the upstairs hallway: she writes, “In the doorway between the bedroom and the hallway, I began to feel lightheaded. I felt as if a spirit passed by.”
11:05 AM: Upon entering a different bedroom, Angela writes, “I experienced difficulty breathing and a tightness in the chest when entering the room.”
11:05 AM: Angela sense “three dark, shadowy figures.” This information is documented before the client explained the shadowy figures being witnessed at the location.
11:05 AM: Two investigators heard breathing in the upstairs Master bedroom of the home with no other people or animals in the room.
11:06 AM: An investigator senses the death of a “young boy.” This corresponds to what psychic artist Angela Kaufman reports when she sensed the presence of a small boy. It also potentially corresponds with the alleged death of a young boy near the premises reported by the client.
11:10 AM: An investigator notes sensing “the spirit of a little girl trying to run from something, but she was unsure what from.” This corresponds to reports made by the client’s daughter of apparitions being seen running from one room to another and the sighting of a small girl apparition in the home. She also reports feeling very uneasy at the top of the stairs. The investigator had no foreknowledge of the client’s experiences.
11:14 AM: An investigator reports seeing something fleeting move by quickly out of the corner of her eye while in the living room. She turned to look to see what it was, but nothing was there.
11:15 AM: Angela documents that the night before our visit she had a dream revealing the name of a baby. The client’s baby had the same name revealed in Angela’s dream the night before.
Issues with Equipment:
10:30 AM: A fully charged battery was completely drained without explanation causing the camera to fail. The device had to be recharged on site.
10:44 AM: Brand new batteries in a second camera died and had to be replaced.
Conclusion: Interactive Haunting
Despite the lack of photographs and EMF findings, our personal experiences, the positive EVP captures, our psychic impressions, and the experiences of the residents of the location have led us to conclude that this location is haunted. We conducted a clearing upon the request of our client and we will remain in contact to continue to offer our assistance if necessary.

The woman posed complaints consisting of the sensation of being watched by something unseen, her children being physically attacked from an unseen force, unexplained sounds and voices, and even visitors in the home were having paranormal encounters. Terrified, the client decided to call in a team to conduct an investigation, and if necessary, a clearing or cleansing of the home.

We were contacted by an adult female who is the single mother of three children; in order to maintain her anonymity, we have changed her name to Megan. She is a 30-year-old female who has lived at her present location for the past five years with her three children: a 10-year-old boy in the fifth grade, a nine-year-old girl in the fourth grade, and a two-year old toddler. The family lives in a large, bi-level home. According to Megan, the most paranormal activity is experienced in the vicinity of the staircase, the hallway, and in the kitchen of the home. Megan suffers from anxiety and she has suffered from extreme, chronic, unexplained health issues since living at the location.
Megan was raised Christian, but currently has no religious affiliation. She has not conducted any rituals in the home, and there have been no clergy that has visited the home. To her knowledge, the home has never been blessed or spiritually cleansed. As far as her beliefs in life after death, Megan believes that there is no Heaven or Hell, but that following death, energy has to go somewhere. Megan had heard about our group through word of mouth and contacted us because she and her family were truly terrified by the ongoing occurrences in the home.
Megan maintains that she has no intense interest in the supernatural or the paranormal but that she has seen shows on television about the subject, like Ghost Hunters and Paranormal State. She does not read books on the paranormal and she has not conducted any research on her own about paranormal occurrences. Megan has never conducted any ghost investigations herself and no séances have occurred on the property to her knowledge. She has never used a Ouija Board. The client has not experienced automatic writing and she does not report having thoughts that are “seemingly not her own.”
Megan professes to have no psychic abilities. She has complained about experiencing a lost sense of time on more than one occasion. In terms of sleep abnormalities, Megan reports that her son has gotten up and ran through the house in a sleep walking episode: he was screaming that he forgot something outside. She also reports that sometimes her oldest daughter moans and yells in her sleep. Megan also explained that she has some difficulty sleeping and that she constantly feels exhausted. On one occasion, she has experienced sleep paralysis where she woke up and could not move. Megan reports having nightmares but not being unable to remember them upon waking. Her children are also occasionally having nightmares.

Client Interview:
During the interview, the client revealed to us that the paranormal activity started at the location approximately five years ago and that it has been ongoing since the family moved there. In the past, the client reports having heard strange tapping on the windowsill, and footsteps running up and down the stairs. The sound of footsteps seemed to partially descend the staircase and stop suddenly; when this happened, Megan would go to the staircase to see if her children were playing around, only to find no one was there at all. This same experience has been witnessed by her boyfriend.
Since living in the residence, Megan has seen shadows, both out of the corner of her eye as well as straight on. One time her daughter saw something run from bedroom to bedroom in the home; the child reported seeing “a black shadow with no head, nothing, just a black shadow.”
The first three months in the home, Megan reports seeing the apparition of a little girl standing in one of the bedrooms of the location as well; she reports seeing the silhouette or shadow of a girl two times since living there. Both times this shadow figure was seen in the upstairs hallway.
On one occasion, Megan had a male friend over to the home. The male went upstairs and quickly came back down. He told Megan that he would never come back to the location again after seeing what he saw; according to Megan, her male friend reported seeing a colorful shadow standing over her son’s bed.
In addition to hearing tapping on the windowsill, the client also reports hearing tapping on an upstairs dresser, on the doorways in the home, and loud banging from unexplained sources. Sometimes the closet door opens by itself without explanation, and one night, about a week or so before our visit, a crucifix shook on the wall in the master bedroom as if it were a rattle. The cross did not fall off the wall.
Megan explained to us that something unseen was hurting her children; her daughter was pinched in the shower and told her mother that she felt like she was smacked. A purple mark appeared on the child’s back without explanation. A similar incident happened to her son too; he received a single scratch on his leg when he was getting ready for bed. The boy came running downstairs to tell his mother that something unseen had scratched him. The scratch was about three inches long. The children often report feeling as if something unseen has smacked them in the head or on the body. In addition, sometimes the children act very out of sorts; for example, during a disagreement with her son, Megan reports that her son became unusually aggressive. After ascending the stairs, he turned to her and said “I want to snap your f%&king neck.” The female adult was shocked at this extremely unusual, aggressive, and potentially violent behavior.
The residents of the home are not the only victims of attack from unseen forces. One day, Megan had a female visitor in the home. As the visitor was going out the back door to leave, something unseen pushed her out the door.
On another occasion, Megan had one of her children in the highchair. Her oldest son was upstairs taking a shower. Megan had a bath seat in the tub that she had removed from the shower so the oldest boy could get washed up. She took the bath seat and stuck it to the floor in the bathroom. She went downstairs to finish up dinner dishes. Her daughter played with dolls on her bed. Suddenly, a loud smashing sound was heard as the bath seat came tumbling down the stairs and busted into little pieces at the bottom of the staircase. Megan ran out of the kitchen and to the base of the stairs to find her son standing at the top of the stairs, dripping wet, confused, trying to figure out what happened. Megan asked her son directly if he were responsible for what had happened, and the boy adamantly denied being responsible; the mother believed her son, and confident in her judgment, concluded that the seat had been tossed down the stairs by an unseen force.
During another incident, Megan came inside to get some snacks for the children outdoors. Her daughter followed her inside and said “Mommy, mom, look.” Megan turned to see what her daughter was talking about and she saw a big blue toy ball spinning around on the floor at the base of the stairs by itself in a counterclockwise direction. She walked over to the ball and it continued to spin; when she got closer to the ball she felt a blast of cold air. By this time, a friend of Megan’s had also come inside and seen what was going on. The female friend was carrying her baby; the baby looked upstairs and began screaming, seemingly for no reason at all or as if she saw something no one else could see.
Megan has also had experiences where she had to struggle to get out of bed. She has felt something touch the side of her head, and touch your side while she was laying down. She has felt like something was laying beside her. Sometimes it feels like something is pulling her back in the bed when she tries to get up as well.
Megan reports that her oldest daughter had heard growling on the side of her bed. Her daughter also heard voices saying, “Grab that,” and the girl often questions her mother, “Did you hear that?” Megan reports at one time hearing breathing in the master bedroom. This event can be supported by two of our investigators who both heard breathing in the upstairs bedroom while at the location, before knowing that the client had similar experiences.
About a week before our visit, the client had a strange photograph appear on her cell phone. The client was up extremely early. It was 5:10 am when something told her to check the pictures on her phone even though she had not taken any recent photos. A new photo appeared on her phone of the kitchen area where she was standing. This photo contained a white skeletal looking face and the client said it was wearing a cape. Additional spirits seem to appear in the image. When Megan saw the picture she said, “That’s it, I’m done.” She woke up her kids, got them ready for school, and heard her baby screaming upstairs. At this point all of the children became distressed and hysterical. Megan huddled together with her two older children, went upstairs, and got the baby. She then made the decision to bring the children to her parent’s house. The client did not return to the location until the day of our visit a week later.
Megan told us that there are plenty of plumbing difficulties at the location as well; the toilet often floods, and nothing seems to drain properly. Even her animals have been influenced by the activity; her cats absolutely refuse to come out from under the beds in the home. Megan reports smelling unusual, foul odors in the home, and she regularly experiences dramatic temperature changes in the home as well. Sometimes she feels angered without cause or explanation. She constantly feels as if something is watching her.

There was one unusual photo in association with this case, but whether or not is it of paranormal origin remains in question; We captured a strange light anomaly in the master bedroom of the home that we cannot currently explain. 10:54 AM: A pendulum reading in the living room begins spinning widdershins, suggesting negative energies. It then begins to swing back and forth.

10:35 AM: Psychic artist Angela Kaufman reports an “oppressive feeling” upon entering the location. Two other investigators concur with this feeling. At the same time, she documents hearing a noise coming from the upstairs of the location: no one was upstairs at the time.
11:00 AM: Angela reports sensing a presence on her left side while standing by the stairs. This was before she knew anything about the occurrences in the location or that the staircase is a prime source of activity.
10:40 AM: Angela documents “I felt a presence near my legs sweep by.” This occurred at the same time as a camera malfunction.
10:40 AM: Angela writes, “One of the spirits is a small child, a young boy.” We did capture an evp of a child’s voice, but the evp clearly states that it is “a girl.”
10:46 AM: Angela senses the spirit in the upstairs of the location; she writes “A woman in a long robe with a baby carriage.”
10:56 AM: An investigator documents sensing the “spirit of a small girl child.” This was documented before the investigator found out that the client has also reported seeing the apparition of a young girl in the home. We have an evp capture of a young girl as well.
11:00 AM: Angela reports experiencing an unexplained, sharp pain in the lower area of the neck.
11:01 AM: Angela moves to the upstairs hallway: she writes, “In the doorway between the bedroom and the hallway, I began to feel lightheaded. I felt as if a spirit passed by.”
11:05 AM: Upon entering a different bedroom, Angela writes, “I experienced difficulty breathing and a tightness in the chest when entering the room.”
11:05 AM: Angela sense “three dark, shadowy figures.” This information is documented before the client explained the shadowy figures being witnessed at the location.
11:05 AM: Two investigators heard breathing in the upstairs Master bedroom of the home with no other people or animals in the room.
11:06 AM: An investigator senses the death of a “young boy.” This corresponds to what psychic artist Angela Kaufman reports when she sensed the presence of a small boy. It also potentially corresponds with the alleged death of a young boy near the premises reported by the client.
11:10 AM: An investigator notes sensing “the spirit of a little girl trying to run from something, but she was unsure what from.” This corresponds to reports made by the client’s daughter of apparitions being seen running from one room to another and the sighting of a small girl apparition in the home. She also reports feeling very uneasy at the top of the stairs. The investigator had no foreknowledge of the client’s experiences.
11:14 AM: An investigator reports seeing something fleeting move by quickly out of the corner of her eye while in the living room. She turned to look to see what it was, but nothing was there.
11:15 AM: Angela documents that the night before our visit she had a dream revealing the name of a baby. The client’s baby had the same name revealed in Angela’s dream the night before.

10:30 AM: A fully charged battery was completely drained without explanation causing the camera to fail. The device had to be recharged on site.
10:44 AM: Brand new batteries in a second camera died and had to be replaced.
Conclusion: Interactive Haunting
Despite the lack of photographs and EMF findings, our personal experiences, the positive EVP captures, our psychic impressions, and the experiences of the residents of the location have led us to conclude that this location is haunted. We conducted a clearing upon the request of our client and we will remain in contact to continue to offer our assistance if necessary.
