The absence, or rather the softening, fading of the pupils could be seen as what 'The Little Prince' meant when he said 'What is important is invisible to the eyes'.However, I had more in mind to depict the sad and hopeless ways so many women still endure, and which is often akinto the sorrow and despair of being blind.
