A new study suggests that a 'gut feeling' can come from the brain accessing memories that we aren't even aware we possess.
Sometimes when you think you're guessing, your brain may actually know better. After conducting some unique memory and recognition tests, while also recording subjects' brain waves, scientists conclude that some gut feelings are not just guesswork after all. Rather, we access memories we aren't even aware we have. "

^ There was a study so money was probably spent. This 'gut feeling' thing is interesting but even I knew it had to do with memories and I'm not a scientist! It wouldn't take a whole study to figure that out.

The word 'suggests' means that they themselves are not sure

Scientists make studies to prove things in a concrete and systematical manner. Not just make conclusions from guess work, or should we say, gut feeling.

I always knew that your first instinct is usually the correct one, and there is a logical clear cut reason for gut feelings and intuition and women always had a stronger sense of intuition and gut feelings and scientists used to try to tell women that it was all in our imagination. I'm glad they are now realizing the truth.
