Why do you humans cry ? A Neuroscientist at the University of Maryland believes that the ability for humans to cry is an evolutionary breakthrough of humans as a social species designed to convey sadness to others.
What’s the use of crying when you’re sad? Other animals shed tears, but humans may be unique in shedding tears of grief, and Robert Provine says that he knows why: to send a signal. “Emotional tears are a breakthrough in the evolution of humans as a social species,” says Dr. Provine, a neuroscientist at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. no, really? we cry to sadness? we evolved this extraordinary feature? woah, now way!!! what, you think we're dumb? WE ALREADY KNOW THAT WE CRY BECAUSE WE'RE SAD.... DUH!!! This site has had some stupid articles, but this hits a new low... Emotional intelligence is a wide area of study in psychology. It's been an active field of study since Darwin wrote The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals in 1872. All emotions have functions. Type "functions of emotions" into Google, and you'll get over 11 million results.
