The road to Area 51

Area 51 is one of the world's most secretive locations, with the US government refusing to acknowledge it exists. Despite this, five men have come forward to reveal information about their time at the enigmatic base.
Area 51. It's the most famous military institution in the world that doesn't officially exist. If it did, it would be found about 100 miles outside Las Vegas in Nevada's high desert, tucked between an Air Force base and an abandoned nuclear testing ground. "

Why is it that if people like this claim that something abnormal did happen in Area 51, everyone points out how eyewitness account is flawed, and that these people are lying; then when the same type of people come out and say the opposite stance, it's accepted with open arms and never even questioned. Why don't we just all agree that no one will know without hard proof what's happening there. How would we know the difference between people lying to push the UFO view, people lying to push the opposite view, and someone telling the truth? Ill second that, ROGER Posted Today, 05:36 PM Well there'... [More]

THE ONLY THING THIS ARTICLE TALKS ABOUT ARE THINGS THAT ARE DECLASSIFIED. IT IS CAREFULLY WORDED IN HOPES THAT INVESTIGATORS WILL STOP SCRUTINIZING AREA 51. THE SOURCES FOR THIS ARE ALL DEDICATED MILITARY PERSONNEL AND ANSWERS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT WHAT REALLY GOES ON OR WENT ON THERE OVER THE YEARS. IT'S A HUGE SMOKESCREEN HOPING THAT SOME PEOPLE WILL BE SATISFIED "KNOWNING THE TRUTH" AND GO AWAY. I HAVE NO DOUBT THEIR STORIES ARE TRUE, BUT THEIR STORIES ARE THE EASIEST FOR THE MILITARY TO USE FOR ATTENTION DIVERSION.

I'm sort of feeling this whole site is an Area 51. Stumbled into it and am completely lost and unable to figure anything out. Like how to get my profile picture to show. In any case, i really agree with ShaunZero. How do we know "the difference between people lying to push the UFO view, people lying to push the opposite view, and someone telling the truth?" That is an excellent question! It's like history. Often it's written hundreds of years after the fact. Who's to say what's true and what isn't? Can someone help me get my profile picture to show and what the heck is a 'signature'?

I'm pretty dissapointed. It was a lot nicer when I still thought there had to be something of alien origin there. Ignorance is a bliss. Maybe your not ignorant at all, Who's to say this is just not another cover up by the government..... I'm pretty dissapointed. The government does not deny that it exists. They deny that it is used for what the conspiracy theorists think it is used for. Also, this is not the first time an "ex-employee" of area 51 has come forward. I have a DVD documentary where a guy claims to have worked on reverse engineering a spaceship at area 51. All these articles always claim this is the first time an ex-employee has come forward. I chuckled when it got to the part about the "truth serum".

Although the government only officially acknowledged the facility's existence only in July 2003. Better late than never. Heh.

Anything anyone ever says about Area 51 (or any of these 'secret' sites) will eight be believed, or NOT be believed, by the people who want to believe somethiing about it. Did that make sense? What I mean is, it doesn't matter what ex-employees or janitors or the government says about it. People will still believe what they want. My Dad (ex-air force in aeronautical engineering and R&D) was at Area 51 several times on business trips. He enjoys answering questions with a wink and "Well, lots of the doors were locked."
