I don't think that we were created IN the garden of eden. I think we were brought there afterwards and then banished. Very well that we were created in South Africa but the garden of eden was, I believe, in Mesopotamia or thereabouts.

A human population that allegedly started with 2 humans- Adam and Eve- would never survive more than a few generations, and that is if they weren't eaten by predators first. Incest and the build-up of negative genetic mutations would wipe out the human species. Sexually reproductive species need genetic diversity to allow the spread of positive genetic mutations to adapt to different environments. It is very true indeed, many scholars beleived that the creation story of Adam and Eve is just a myth, even the days of creation(which is incredibly just 7 days), the Genesis is a great literature taken literally by most people.
