Animated newspapers such as those seen in the Harry Potter books are coming closer to reality next month as America's Entertainment Weekly is set to publish an issue with a wafer-thin screen and speaker inside it to show adverts.
The animated newspapers of the Harry Potter books will come a step closer next month with the appearance of the world's first video magazine advert. America's Entertainment Weekly will contain a wafer-thin screen and mini-speaker that will allow readers to watch a video when the publication is opened.

First invisible doors, then animated pictures, and now animated newspapers. What's next? Flying broomsticks?

First invisible doors, then animated pictures, and now animated newspapers. What's next? Flying broomsticks? A six year old kid if so inclined could make a flying broomstick.

In the future, we will buy newspapers/magazines in digital format, downloaded on to our mobile devices. I have been doing that for 2 years now already.....

I think that they do not have to do this. We have the internet.

What's the point of that? People probably buy newspapers and magazines less anyway...many just carry around laptops. Easy access to all sorts of info and news...

This is stupid. As nice as it is its stupid. How about they make those paintings that come to life Now that is a cool idea, it would be so awesome to have all the famous ones come to life! But newspapers, seriously? How much would it cost to make them? How long would they last. Most ppl only keep newspapers a few days - a week, are we going to throw these new ones away as well or are they just going to accumulate? Not a very smart idea, I don't think
