A new equation for life

Astrobiologists are in the process of developing a new mathematical equation to determine how suitable other planets are for life similar to the famous Drake Equation that calculated the number of alien civilizations we may come in to contact with.
Astrobiologists are trying to work out a mathematical equation to quantify how suitable other planets are for life, similar to the famous Drake Equation for judging the chances of contacting extraterrestrial civilizations.

I find this interesting. A new equation for life? Personally I believe that all and everything is alive. The equations should be for classifications of life and not for an on or off switch.

hmmm how can you work a equation for life? species can survive in all kinds of different environment!!

Yeah I would've thought that wouldn't be possible seeing as scientists are still being surprised to this very day at new species they find living in habitats previously thought as inhospitable.
