80-year-old falls from 6th floor window... then walks away unscathed

The octogenarian seemingly survived the fall unscathed, despite plummeting six stories to the ground.
According to reports, the incident - which occurred in Yekaterinburg, Russia - occurred after the woman, who had been cleaning her windows, lost her balance and fell.

The idea that anyone - let alone an 80-year-old - could survive such a plunge seems impossible, yet not only did the woman survive, but she simply got to her feet and walked away as if nothing was amiss.

What ultimately saved her life was the fact that she fell on top of a car which crumpled when she landed on it, cushioning her impact with the ground in just the right way to save her.
Even a professional stunt person would have had trouble landing so perfectly.

"Not only was she lucky to 'fall right', but had she been any further toward the building, the back of her head would likely hit the frame supporting the truck - almost certainly fatal," one commenter wrote.

"Similarly, had she or the car been shifted a foot (or possible less) either left or right, she would have landed again on the frame, which would also have been fatal, or at least, she would have sustained far far worse injuries."

"She landed SQUARE in the middle of the roof, allowing it to crumple, and not her."

Your clueless! You have no idea what the hell you're even talking about! The truth of the matter is the vast majority of people regardless of age who fell six stories and hit a car would die pretty much instantly. Somebody made that video on purpose for clicks so it would go viral because they know there's enough idiots out there in the world will fall for it. I guess they're right!

And a mother can't pickup a car. A man cant survive with a pole through his head. Weirder things have and continue to happen. It might just be a fluke of nature and mathematics and LUCK but yes a person can. The highest a person has fallen without a parachute and survived is 33,333 feet. A 6 story building is average 60-90 ft tall. Thats quite a difference, if a person can fall 33,333 ft and be alive, I think someone could fall a measly 60 ft and if everything was JUST RIGHT they could survive and walk away. A person did highest at 193 ft cliff dive with no problem. And if you dont know the e... [More]

You are not?.. The fall it's self may not be fake but to walk away from it (which of course we don't see in the vid) is IMO unlikely, especially a woman of that age!? But, not impossible I guess- who knows??......... Plus= the balcony highlighted in one of the article pics is not directly above a car!?

You are free to believe whatever you wish dragonfly.  I have no beliefs.  I am good with what I know.  Is there a video showing the woman falling from a window?  It is impossible to tell from the video we have if it is a male or female and certainly unable to identify age.   Can you prove that any of that story is true?  No.  You cannot.  There is no video of the fall.  There is no video of a woman.  There is no hospital report or video of the woman whatsoever.  Not only is there no video.  There is no picture.  What we actually have is a video of something falling from above the... I consider myself far from gullible and I believe this actually happened as seen in the CCTV footage. The fall and her survival are consistent with the laws of physics, where the car roof crumpled, absorbing the kinetic energy from her fall. The crumpling of the car roof and her landing flat on her back means the energy is distributed via deformation and over a large area. You can think of those demonstrations of a person lying on a bed of nails which shows the principle of distributed pressure over a large area compared to the concentrated pressure of a single nail which would puncture skin. ... It wouldn't be the first time that CCTV cameras caught someone falling onto a car.  And if it actually was a CCTV video then there wouldn't have been a video of her falling from the window.  Here is a similar video: https://abc7news.com/florida-man-falling-video-car-dealership-on-crazy-security-footage/5385523/ Where is the video of her walking away?  Is there one? We don't know.  There should be.  And what of her adjusting the clothes immediately after hitting the car.  I get what you are saying, but the reality of falling almost 100 feet and hitting a car vs.  say,  falling 5 feet on... Just don't bother cleaning the outside windows, especially that far up! Leave it for professionals and their ladders.

I was a witness to someone committing suicide by leaping from an 8 storey car park. They landed on top of a car. That bang was like a full on car crash. The person died. The car was written off. I also know of a former workmate who jumped from a 6 storey car park while in a stare of distress. He survived, but suffered life changing injuries and never worked again. Sooo, I have to say it's unlikely, unless she is one of those really bird-like old ladies who almost 'floated' on a strong breeze. Sometimes people with  hideous internal injuries walk away from accidents due to shock, and succumb l... [More]
