Conservation experts have warned that African elephants could be extinct within 15 years due to the illegal ivory trade, the 600,000 strong population is diminishing by 38,000 a year.
The sight of elephants trekking trunk-to-tail across the Saharan Plains may soon be lost from African landscapes because of the illegal ivory trade, conservation experts have warned.

Hate to say it but you are wrong: "It's very serious because elephants are an incredibly important species. They keep habitats open so other species that depend on such ecosystems can use them. Without elephants, there will be major habitat changes, with negative effects on the many species that depend on the lost habitat. Elephants also are a major part of ecotourism, which is an important source of hard currency for many African countries." Then survival of the fittest will really come into play.

Then survival of the fittest will really come into play. Yeah, or you could learn how ecology works. Very foolish statement.

How about cloning? We could always invent a time machine....and bring back more through our time portal...

Elephants, bah! They're disgusting animals, their stench is absolutely god awful and you can smell them from 100 feet away, or more.

Lol like humans are so important. _ The planet would be better off without humans ya' know? There would only be positive effects after. Millions of domesticated and/or captive animals would die alongside us. How about cloning? We could always invent a time machine....and bring back more through our time portal... I'm now imagining a sort of Jurassic Park like film, but with evil angry elephants trying to kill us all. They must be stopped.

Millions of domesticated and/or captive animals would die alongside us. Well yeah, but that's the fault of the humans...
