In a controversial story this week the Indian space agency have claimed that their Chandrayaan-1 space probe detected signs of organic matter on the lunar surface in November. Research to confirm the find is ongoing.
Scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) are on the brink of a path-breaking discovery. They may have found signs of life in some form or the other on the Moon.

For all we know, there could be organisms that live in the vacuum of space. Perhaps they live in certain nebula's or areas where the laws of physics are different. Star trek comes to mind, when thinking about space living creatures. Us Humans are just used to seeing only Carbon based lifeforms, but that doesn't mean there aren't non-carbon lifeforms out there, who also may be intelligent.

Well if there is any life there ignorant humans will probably have it destroyed before it is even confirmed. Nice. You know, people usually fear their own daemons. Publicity stunt for sure. Life? Not as we know it.

Could they have detected Astronaut farts lol Anyway they need to confirm these findings before getting people excited.

There is organic matter on the moon. It was left by the Apollo missions, not to intentionally seed the moon though. There were huge space restriction in those capsules so certain "Waste matter" was left behind in baggies like a dumpster at the dog park. perhaps a small meteorite or similar impact spread it around. It's just like here on Earth, you've got a pristine area with no pollution? Human's will take care of that! : )

"Signs of organic matter" is not necessarily 'signs of life', even when water is present (and frozen rock hard). True. "Organic matter" just means it contains carbon.

I don't trust ISRO or Indian media outlets. There's a great chance everything reported is completely false. Yup have to agree. Almost on par with weekly world news.
