Scientists have succeeded in creating a genetically modified trout with massive rippling body-builder muscles.
The terminator-esque trout was created by inhibiting a protein that slows growth, the additional muscle mass could have substantial commercial benefits and provide new details about how fish grow.

So, what's the purpose? Since the muscle is the part that we fry up as Meat, it's probably to create more "meat" per fish as food.
