In something straight out of science fiction a new space age force-field type armour is being developed by scientists.
The new system can be embedded in a tank or other vehicle and uses electrical pulses to repel incoming rockets, shrapnel and other projectiles.
Researchers at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), which is the research and development arm of the Ministry of Defence, claim it is possible to incorporate material known as supercapacitors into armour of a vehicle to turn it into a kind of giant battery.

Time to prepare for the influx of Veteran's Hospital patients from the high doses of EMF's. Who knows how much higher this stuff will be from the already dangerous cell phones and the far worse Bluetooth tech that is causing people tumors.

wouldn't the electromagnetic pulse from discharging large amounts of electricity almost instantaneously also knock out the vehicle's electronics systems? on-board computers, navigation, target acquisition capabilities etc.

I don't think the EMF will actually be so much of a problem for human soldiers. Not American ones anyway. We're probably seeing the last decade of Americans riding in tanks. Everything will be drone technology in the future. Tanks in Asia will be driven from Kansas and the main gun fired from Kentucky. The military already hardens most of their high value electronics. Future tanks and other vehicles will likely be even more so.

how soon before the US Military buys the exclusive rights to this technology and slaps it on an M1 Abrams tank?
