German researchers are developing infrared technology for use in cars to help make night driving safer.
The technology could be linked to automatic braking systems that stop the car when a person or animal looms out of the darkness, or "augmented reality" style head-up displays that show otherwise invisible objects on the driver's screen.

This is old news. Mercedes already has a model with a infrared cam installed. Saw it on a old Top Gear episode. The car was driven by Geremy.

Old news,Funny thing is that this new tech has been around for more years than you think,I should know for I was around when it was being developed,For what I cant say for who I cant say but yes it was being used,Its an old idea that goes back some time.Oh and it wasnt being used for civilian vehic's like cars and trucks.Old news indeed.I dont think it would be right for civilians to have tech like that, yes it would be nice but.........Not for civilians.
