Rare 'corpse flower' attracts thousands

Crowds have turned up in Switzerland to witness the infamous "corpse flower" blooming for the first time.
One of the plant's most distinctive features is its strong smell of rotting flesh, a feature aimed at attracting flies. It is the first time this particular 17-year-old plant has bloomed and the flower will only last a few days before wilting.
A rare plant that has the distinct smell of rotting flesh is attracting large crowds in Switzerland. Thousands of plant lovers are flocking to the Basel Botanical Garden in Switzerland to see a full bloom of a corpse flower. The 17-year-old plant is blooming for the first time.
