Cat gives birth to dog ?

Cat-owner Zhou Yun from China has claimed that her pregnant cat has given birth to a dog.
The cat had given birth to two offspring, one of which was dead and another that other looked a lot like a dog. A local pet clinic president however was not convinced, emphasising that such a birth is impossible and that it is more likely the cat went out and brought home a puppy that it had found somewhere else.
Zhou Yun, the cat's owner, says she knew her furry friend was pregnant so she wasn't surprised when she happened upon two kittens at the beginning of the month.

Bears, cats and dogs are different species. They are all mammals of course and of the family Carnivora. But, just because an animal is a mammal does not make it able to cross breed with all other mammals. sorry i should have said the same order.

sorry i should have said the same order. I'm quite familiar with animal classification: Species, Genus, Family, Order, Class, Phylum. However, sharing the same Family or Order does not mean that there's sufficient genetic similarity for animals to cross breed. Now, some animals of the same Genus but different Species (such as tigers and lions) can breed forming hybrids (ie, lygers). But this does not apply to cats (Felidae) and dogs (Canidae) who are of differing Genus.

I think those people in China ought to START eating MSG again...way too many of these stories. I'd be afraid to pet any animal over there. OT...but...I used to have a BF who was quite a dog. I used to dog him out all the time and call him a p***y.
