Information released through the Freedom of Information Act has revealed some unusual police cases.
Officers from Tayside Police in Scotland have been called on to investigate a variety of unusual occurances over the last few years including five incidents of paranormal activity of which at least two remain unexplained. One particularly notable case involved a man who called the police to report he was being attacked by ghosts, officers who arrived on the scene discovered that he had actually been hallucinating.
A number of sightings of paranormal activity, including UFOs and ghosts, have been investigated by police in the Tayside region, a report has revealed. Although officers in Dundee, Perthshire and Angus did not receive any reports of zombies, witches or vampires, several people raised the alarm with police about an "alien spacecraft".

I'm not sure what sort of skills would be required to investigate ufo sightings , may be it would only need common sense and logic ? A degree in science and astronomy might be more of a hindrance than a help.... However , as for ghosts they would need a certain spirituality and or psychic ability , and there should be as many police with such qualities pro rata as there are in the general populus .... Eventually police departments around the world may have two new specialized divisions , UFO Investigation , and Psychic Investigation .... I'm sure they'd solve a lot more crimes with a psychic d... I remembered this from the 90's, it's not the Scottish Police, but it's a police officers account of investigating a ghost sighting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuEvJRZ-wgs&feature=related

this is interesting.normally the cops are the first to deny anything they can't solve.

Why call it 'unexplained' now when they have spent years giving fake logical explanations just for the sake of sanity of the human race.

It is people who invade time and ghost hunting from another country! When one man said,'let put water in a bottle and sell it, what you think, the choose _______?'. They believe anything! no offense.
