Interstellar planets could harbour life

Planets that exist on their own away from stars or orbits could potentially host alien life.
Interstellar planets are believed to originally form around stars but are later cast out due to gravitational tugs of war. A thick atmosphere or tidal heating from an orbiting moon could help to keep these solitary bodies warm in the darkness of space.
They are often thought to be nearly invisible, since they are much dimmer than stars and do not have any suns nearby to illuminate them. Now, however, research suggests these worlds might be detected by their auroras.

Wouldn't it be sad if we are the most advanced. If all the life we ever find is going through their own Roman or Egyptian times. Maybe complex life such as ourselves takes a very long time to evolve and perhaps we are the first - it could explain the lack of its abundance. Are you saying modern society is much more advanced than Roman and Egyptian times, improved and superior? The science behind theories of life on other planets is certainly a humbling one. I'd argue that not only were ancient times superior to modern day society in almost every way, but far less barbaric.

How would you argue that?

How would you argue that? In great length, touching upon the integrity of ancient democracies and republics, as well as the thriving intellectualism and ideas of ancient Greece and Rome that produced western philosophy and religions like Christianity. Are the wars we currently fight and America's war machine not made worse and even more barbaric by the fact that we have the past to learn from, yet so blatantly ignore it.

Screw philosophy. Its sole purpose is so that we have something that shows us what hypocrites we are. Let's talk actions. I don't care about what people think. I care about what they do. What actions from the past convince you they were superior and less barbaric?

What actions from the past convince you they were superior and less barbaric? The guy hates America, it's clear. Gladiators fighting to the death and various medieval torture devices are nothing compared to the horrors of American Idol and Wal-Mart.

You mean like the fabled Greek Democracy, when about a dozen people out of the whole population actually had the vote, and the slaves did all the work? Or all those highly paid labourers who weren't at all coerced into building the Pyramids?
