I've got a cast of a large footprint that I saw in the woods.

No takers. That's because you'd do like I did and everyone else did. You didn't want to take the risk of becoming involved in a murder investigation, so we all drove on by. How did it end? It layed there for 5 days (maybe more), then FINALLY I saw a state trooper behind it, I thought "it's about time they got whatever or whoever that is off the side of the highway".

Take photos, stand back, call animal services, tell them an endangered animal is dying in the middle of the road on a dangerous stretch. Call papers. Wait. Well back in the 70's I was in my late teens, early twenties. No cell phones, no internet, no quickly accessable information to cross reference, not much public awareness or info on BF either. Knowing what I know now, I would have went straight to the local newspaper and got a reporter out there. Concerning the photos of the footprints I consider them suspicious and possibly a hoax. On the one print it shows 6 toes and the biggest one seems to have a claw mark indicating a claw extending from the toe. The claw, at least to me would not be indicative of a hominid but some kind of animal.
