NORAD Santa trackers have record holiday

You don't lie to them...you tell them Santa is a mythological being from the get/go. When they're old enough to know the meaning of the term, "mythological" all's well. The time, effort, and money put into my children at Christmas resulted in some of the most precious and wonderful times and memories of my entire life. Love the Norad Santa Tracker. We go online and track Santa and the kids get all excited. Us adults even get excited as we see santa get get closer to our state and when he got to Wisconsin the kids are like "we got to get to bed NOW!!! He's almost here" They were like in bed at 10:05pm. So Cool.

I have to agree that it is a waste of time. It is also hipocrisy. We preach to our kids to not lie and then participate in one of the biggest lies of all time. I think of it as Partaking in a Fairy Tale. It's o.k. to have a little fantasy in your life. If you believe in aliens aren't you also partaking in a fairy tale? just food for thought. I mean you can go further and say religion also, but I believe in god and Santa, and the tooth fairy and prince charming and aliens.

Two years ago my then 24 year old daughter suddenly became seriously ill. As the doctor spoke to her telling her of her treatment options and how the situation was grave she told him this, "My Mom needs to make the decisions here because I trust her with my life". Trust between a parent and a child has very little to do with Santa Claus, very very little. Just to add my daughter pulled through and although her life is very much changed she remains an optimistic young woman who absolutely loves being a Kindergarden teacher.

Good grief...how can an adult be so bitter about a childhood fantasy? I'm sorry, but...grow up and get over it! You've got more serious issues to deal with than Santa. The majority of the rest of us took it for what it was and blew it off. I hate if you were traumatized in some way, but get off the ones that enjoyed it and turned out perfectly fine with our parents. And no, I am not a Christian. Merry Christmas!!!

I will be the first one to agree with anybody when they say Christmas is a load of crap but I will say that when I could pull out my phone and show my kids that Santa was in London or Egypt or where ever, then seeing the excitement ion their faces when he hit the east coast and he was getting closer... I think its worth the 40 some dollars or what ever small amount of money it took to integrate a gps app with a time zone I fail to se where this is a waste of time and money. Go to any app store and look at the apps people are charging for...
