A 27-pound lobster the size of a small child has been caught after becoming trapped in a shrimp net.
Nicknamed 'Rocky' and measuing 40 inches the huge crustacean is the largest lobster ever to be caught in the region. "All the weight is in the claws," said Department of Marine Resources education director Elaine Jones. "It would break your arm." Fortunately for this lobster there was a happy ending, it was released back in to the sea at West Boothbay.
The biggest lobster ever caught in Maine, a 27-pounder nicknamed "Rocky" with claws tough enough to snap a man's arm, was released on Thursday after being trapped in a shrimp net last week, marine officials said.
