Two peopled have died after a mass of dangerous spiders swarmed the town of Sadiya in India.
The town's residents had been celebrating a Hindu festival when the arachnids descended upon them, killing two and sending many more to hospital with bites. Authorities have considered spraying the whole area with insecticide to try and deal with the menace and have called in a science team to try and identify the species.

"As of now, we cannot give a specific name," said Dr L R Saikia. "It's similar to a tarantula but it could be a whole new species. But whatever the species, it is a highly aggressive spider. It leaps at anything that comes close."
A swarm of potentially venomous spiders has reportedly invaded a town in India and two people have died after being bitten.

I took a picture of a spider exactly like that only brown instead of black, same red abdomen. It was this spring..a few thousand miles away from this paradise. If only I was technicely literate. Well, I went around the usual way and made it my picture. It's been dead a fea hours, my cam phone didn' do the colors justice, especially the red-orange. Oh and mostly black, legs might have been but this guy died in sub 30's temps. so while the coloration was faded some, it still tasted great.

I think it is important to keep in mind how critical these creatures are to our ecosystem, They do a job that makes our lives better, and keep other pests under control. We should be respectful of this beautiful creatures techniques; its methods that have made it so successful in our fragile planet. Be respectful, give them their space to do their job and they will give you equal respect and space. When considering wfefwpw v q1304 SPIDER ON THE DESK!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!! If someone could call my insurance agent I would appreciate it.

used to ride my Mtn bike on trails south off Houston early in the mornings that had these things called banana spiders in the woods. They're as big as your palm and like to weave huge webs that would cross the trail but were hard to see until it was too late to stop. Not only were the webs strong enough to knock you back a little as you pushed through it you had to stop (or crash in my case) to deal with the fat little monster skittering across your body. But if you were lucky enough to be #2 or three on the trail that day you'd notice something else. Virtually zero mosquitoes.

I wished they would have provided a photo. I dont know if it is a true spider or a tarantula.

What happen in those pictures, the floods caused the spiders to seek refuge in the trees, but as the waters receded, they stayed in the areas in large numbers. Akin to humans seeking higher ground to seek refuge from the fast rising flood waters, basically akin to birds large flocks when migrating due to natural weather.
