A 'tooth tattoo' made from silk strands and gold wires could detect life-threatening illnesses.
The device is still in development but could one day become commonplace in monitoring patients for signs of bacteria and viruses through real-time updates. The 'tattoo' works by being stuck a tooth's enamel and detects problems via the patient's breath before transmitting the data to a nearby monitor.

At the moment the sensor is too large to fit on a human tooth and will require quite a bit of work to shrink down, researchers also hope to make it as resilient as possible so that it can withstand day-to-day activities such as eating and brushing.

It may sound silly but I wonder if this thing could receive RF signals and make a person hear strange noises?

That's a good use for gold. I wonder if they can make an earring version too some day.

Quiet frankly, It's a nice idea but there are more important things to be spending money on then some device that can detect an infection.. Such as putting away money to cure all the diseases & fixing up homeless shelters. Or trashed neighborhoods.
