Ancient Roman shipwreck discovered

A Roman trading ship from the 1st century BC has been found laden with cargo off the coast of Italy.
The wreck is in such a good condition that it is believed some of the food supplies might still be preserved within its storage jars. It is thought that the ship sunk while traveling on a trade route between Spain and Rome with a cargo of over 200 jars containing supplies such as fish, grain and wine."There are some broken jars around the wreck, but we believe that most of the amphorae inside the ship are still sealed and food-filled," said Lt. Col. Francesco Schilardi.
A Roman trading ship from the time of the Caesars has been discovered off the coast of Italy, reportedly in such good condition that some of the food may still be preserved inside the storage jars.
