Two die hard Star Trek fans have cemented their relationship in Britain's first ever Klingon wedding.
Josefin Sockertopp and Sonnie Gustavsson turned up on the day dressed in full Klingon prosthetics and attire, they tied the knot in traditional Klingon style to the sound of drums beating. The event is part of the first Star Trek convention to be held in the UK for a decade. "I've been a fan of Star Trek since I was little," said Sonnie. "The Klingons are strong characters and they bond together. Their ceremony was really fun."
"The ceremony was his idea," said his new wife. "I thought about it a lot and then I said - let's do it." During the ceremony the bride and groom were required to vow to fight alongside one another for life and to conclude proceedings the groom let out a terrific Klingon howl.
Josefin Sockertopp, 23, and Sonnie Gustavsson, 29, tied the knot at London's ExCel Centre, where the first official Star Trek convention in the UK for more than ten years is being held.
