A man-made structure buried under Mount Padang in Cianjur could be one of the oldest ever found.
Legend has it that the area around Java and Sumatra was once home to an advanced civilization and now researchers believe they may have found evidence of this in the form of a man-made structure underneath Mount Padang. Carbon-dating based on sand, soil and charcoal samples carried out by a lab in Miami appears to date the structure to 14,000 BC, however the findings have been met with a considerable degree of skepticism."There is no more doubt that the structure beneath Mount Padang is older than the Giza pyramid," said researcher Budianto Ontowirjo. Studies in to the findings are likely to continue for some time.
A recent analysis of carbon-dating by the Miami-based Beta Analytic Lab has apparently validated findings by a government-sanctioned team that a man-made structure, buried under Mount Padang in Cianjur, West Java, is older than the Giza pyramid.
