Trackers disagree over Santa's route

Image Credit: sxc.hu As per tradition, NORAD's Microsoft sponsored Santa tracker has been offering web users the chance to track Father Christmas as he made his way around the world delivering presents. Similarly, Google's new Santa Dashboard service was also offering a way to keep track of Santa on his festive trip. Unfortunately however the two trackers couldn't seem to agree upon where Santa was at any given time or how many presents he had delivered.

Parents found themselves being questioned by inquisitive youngsters who couldn't understand how Santa was flying over Madagascar on one tracker and Romania on the other at the same time. Similarly, NORAD's tracker had counted some 2.8 billion deliveries while Google's dashboard was reporting only 770 million.

"Looks like Google has applied their patented 'scroogled' algorithm to their Santa tracker this year, or that Bing users have been very, very nice," said Microsoft's Frank Shaw. "We know the NORAD Bing tracker is showing Santa's actual location and is delivering three times the amount of Christmas presents.
