Russia designs new spaceship

Image Credit: Wikipedia Hot on the heels of NASA's new Orion spacecraft, Russia is hoping to improve its own manned space program with a new vehicle that is scheduled to begin testing as early as 2017. Having been in development since Energia won the project in 2009, the new spacecraft will not only be able to transport astronauts to the International Space Station but also to the Moon as well.

"We have completed the technical design project taking into account the fact that the new spaceship is to fly to the Moon, among other places," said Energia President Vitaly Lopota.
