Married twins give birth to identical twins

In a remarkable coincidence, a couple who each have an identical twin now have identical twin children.
Twins Craig and Mark Sanders both met their future wives, twins Darlene and Diane Nettemeier, at a twin convention in 1998. The two brothers proposed a year later and tied the knot in a double wedding ceremony. As if that wasn't enough twins, Diane and Craig later went on to have two children who, unbelievably, were also identical twins.

The odds of having identical twins are approximately 3 in every 1000 births, however the odds of this happening to parents who themselves both have identical twin siblings are staggeringly remote.
The families have a shared backyard in Houston that allows the children to all play together. They admitted to occasionally mistaking an aunt or uncle for one of their parents when looking at them from behind.

No, not 'genetically they're considered siblings'. Anyone who has twin siblings or has read about it know that their genetic structures vary ever so slightly because of random mutation due to age and general wear and tear. Identical twins are similar but not identical, genetically.

Cool story, if I ever visited there, it would freak me out a little though. It'd be like a bunch of clones running around, creepy. lol

Having twins in the family line actually increases the odds of having a multiple pregnancy, so im not surprised at all that identical twin parents could have identical twins themselves. It's sonething they ask you at your first antenatel appointment, 'do you have twins in the family?'.

I didn't know it was a remote chance for twins to have twins... Very interesting.
