Man hauls 12ft crucifix around the world

He first started back in 1987 and often carries the cross for more than 12 hours a day without knowing where he will sleep at night. "I find people often want to talk, but if people don't want to know I walk on," he said. "The love you get from it all is amazing, people will just stop and ask you questions, offer you food and sometimes a place to stay."

His journey hasn't always been straight forward however, throughout his travels he has been attacked by zealots, shot at and stopped by the police. "There is fear there sometimes because I have a wife and kids and you don't want to put yourself in danger," he said.
