The record for the oldest cat that ever lived is held by a female cat called Creme Puff who lived in Texas with her owner Jake Perry until the ripe old age of 38 before passing away in 2005. Remarkably, Perry also owned a cat called Granpa who lived almost as long at 34 years old.

World's oldest cat turns 27

A particularly long-lived feline in the UK called Wadsworth has just celebrated his 27th birthday.
Wadsworth was adopted by owner Ann Munday in 1986 after being thrown out by his previous owner for being the runt of the litter. Now the equivalent of 125 in human years, the 27-year-old cat is believed to be the oldest in the world. Despite his advancing years he has suffered very little in the way of age related ailments and continues to enjoy good health.The record for the oldest cat that ever lived is held by a female cat called Creme Puff who lived in Texas with her owner Jake Perry until the ripe old age of 38 before passing away in 2005. Remarkably, Perry also owned a cat called Granpa who lived almost as long at 34 years old.
Gill Monsell, Waddy's vet, says that the cat is largely healthy with only a few old-age ailments like hyperthyroidism. "Mrs. Munday does a fantastic job of treating him and he is very stable on the medication. "
