Moon Express are a start-up with high aspirations when it comes to space exploration. In the future they hope to aim towards sending a rover to the Moon as well as to become commercially viable by extracting minerals and metals from the lunar surface and returning them to the Earth.

Mission to visit Moon's south pole by 2016

The unmanned privately funded mission could see a telescope set up on top of a lunar mountain.
The $100 million price tag would be funded by the International Lunar Observatory Association (LRO) and Moon Express who will work together to install two radio antennae and an optical telescope at the peak of a crater known as Malapert. Once set up the telescope would be able to provide the clearest ever images of our own galaxy because it will not be subjected to the haze of the Earth's atmosphere.Moon Express are a start-up with high aspirations when it comes to space exploration. The launch of Man’s first-ever mission to the Moon’s south pole was announced by two private US companies which plan to set telescopes on top of a lunar mountain as early as 2016.
