A new bio-engineered 'super honey' is proving highly effective at treating infections and wounds.
Known as 'Surgihoney' the new substance appears to provide unique health benefits and could revolutionize the treatment of infected wounds. Trials indicated that it was highly effective against MRSA and other antibiotic-resistant bacteria and has been used to help heal the wounds of soldiers in Afghanistan. It also seems to be helpful in the treatment of ulcers and even acne.
"I have conducted numerous laboratory tests and compared it with honeys from around the world," said microbiologist Dr Matthew Dryden. "I found Surgihoney better for treating every type of bug. So for the past year I have been using it on patients and the results have been amazing."
A new honey has been produced that has had ‘amazing’ results treating wounds and infections. The bio-engineered product Surgihoney was tested on babies, new mothers, cancer patients and the elderly for over a year in Hampshire hospitals.
