The remote-operated aerial drone managed to cause quite a stir in the cities of Vienna and Graz.
As drones become more and more affordable, their use as inexpensive aerial cameras and traffic monitors makes them an increasingly common sight above cities around the world.
Unfortunately however these remote-operated aerial platforms have also sparked a rise in UFO sightings, as evidenced this week in Austria where dozens of witnesses believed they'd seen an extraterrestrial visitor over the skies of Vienna and Graz.
Videos and photographs of the anomalous object have been appearing online for days with some witnesses adamant that they have managed to capture evidence of a craft from outer space.
Local authorities, who have received numerous reports concerning the phenomenon, have so far declined to release a statement clarifying the nature of the sightings.
Really?, I mean it even looks like a drone, unless of course we are talking 'land of the giants' type thing (need to be over a certain age) people seem to be so gullible :)
The article jumps straight to claiming it's a drone, but states no facts or images of said drone. Can anyone produce an actual image of this said drone?
The drone action was organized by the Austrian advertising agency Warda Network on behalf of T-Mobile to advertise for a new service feature , the virtual assistant Tinka (... who is coming from space to assist you blablabla ...) Link (German)
Maybe with more drones in the air, people will eventually stop crying UFO all the time. Of course when one does show, we'll probably ignore it. (Provided radar can't see it.)
