The man had been walking outside when he was hit by a bullet that seemed to come out of nowhere.
The peculiar incident, which happened last Thursday in the town of Frauenfeld in Switzerland, involved a 38-year-old man who had been outside with his two children and another adult when he suddenly felt an intense, sharp pain in his lower body.

When he went to the emergency room at the local hospital he was told by doctors that he had in fact been shot and that the bullet was still lodged inside him.

Fortunately his injuries were not severe and doctors were able to remove the bullet and treat the wound, however nobody could explain exactly where the bullet had come from.
At the time of the shooting neither he, nor anyone he was with, had heard any sort of gunshot and there had been no sign of anyone with a gun in the vicinity.

The bullet itself hasn't revealed much in the way of clues either other than the fact that the gun was likely a very low calibre weapon otherwise it would have done much more damage.

A police investigation has since been launched in an attempt to get to the bottom of the mystery.

"Maybe a kid was playing with an airgun," said weapons expert Martin Eerhard. "If a small-caliber weapon was actually involved, someone must have handled the firearm with gross negligence."

People have been sitting in their house and were hit and killed by a bullet that seemed to come out of nowhere. It came from somewhere.

Almost happened to my dad decades ago. He was in the farmhouse kitchen talking to his mother when a rifle round came through the window and struck the bricks of the fireplace between them. Some fool hunter/farmer not making sure (or caring) where his round/bullet will go if his shot misses. .

The problem here is that he was not in LA. Had he been in Los Angeles he would have known what happened. https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-14616491 https://www.newsweek.com/celebratory-gunfire-new-years-eve-los-angeles-410598

When I was a kid there was a boy that thought someone had thrown a rock at him and hit him in the head. He had a knot on his head but nobody thought a lot about it. A month or so later his Mom took him to a doc when the knot never went away. He lanced it and pulled out a 22 lr slug. Nobody heard a shot and it was assumed that a hunter far back in the woods behind the school missed a shot at a squirrel and it just came down in the schoolyard with just enough power to get under the skin on his head but not damage his skull at all. I heard of someone that got a wound in the shoulder on New Years'... [More]

Just name your rifles nowhere and somewhere. That should get anyone out of any legal trouble right? But in all seriousness thankfully it wasn’t fatal or hit his kids.

Heard that kind of story before, a pregnant mother fell bleeding on her balcony. her husband in the main room saw her and brought her to emergency, he had'nt heard a sound When admitted to emergency, the doctor found that indeed it was a gun wound, but when they made a xray of the mother womb they found something very strange. The baby had the bullet in him, with no wounds...in fact he had swallowed it during a normal reflex of deglutition...it appears that the bullet was at the end of its course and had just enough velocity to go through the mother.
