The body of a South African pastor had been kept at a mortuary for two years because he was expected to rise from the dead.
The peculiar case, which came to light recently when local media outlets picked up the story, concerned a pastor by the name of Siva Moodley who hailed from the province of Gauteng.

Moodley had passed away back on August 14th, 2021, but instead of being buried or cremated straight away, his body had been taken to the local mortuary where it had remained for two years.

At the time of his death, efforts were made to obtain permission to proceed with the cremation, but the family had refused to provide any instructions.
The man's wife, it was alleged, had stated that she didn't want to cremate or bury him at that time because she had experienced a vision indicating that he would be resurrected.

Moodley himself had previously been attributed with enabling the resurrection or other individuals.

It wasn't until relatively recently, when health and safety concerns forced officials to pursue the matter, that the pastor's body was finally buried at Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg.

Up to 50 people attended, though his wife and children were not thought to be among them.
