The doll had been used to scare people into handing over money during a spate of recent robberies.
If you happened to be a child of the 80s and managed to catch 'Child's Play' on TV before bed, you might have some rather unpleasant memories of the franchise's killer doll antagonist Chucky.
Now it seems that the flame-haired plastic menace has been up to his old tricks again - this time in Mexico where he was recently arrested for his role in a spate of robberies.
According to reports, the perpetuator behind this particular version of Chucky - a man known only as Carlos N - had given him a knife and had used him to scare people into handing over their cash.
When the police caught up with the suspect, they 'arrested' the doll and even posed for photographs with Chucky in handcuffs for a laugh.
The officer responsible was later reprimanded for not taking their job seriously enough.
"He put the doll in their faces and was scaring people; it is an offense. [and] for this reason, he was arrested," Juan Raul Alcocer - a police officer with Monclova Police - said of the suspect's arrest.
